Eligibility Requirements for The Traitors Application

Check out the Eligibility Requirements for The Traitors Application 2026 for your region. Apply for the US, UK, Canada & Australia, and Ireland.

United States (Season 5 – NBC)

  1. Status: Civilian Only (There is no required previous reality TV stars or celebrities).
  2. Minimum Age: Your minimum age is 21 years old (by April 1, 2026).
  3. Residency: You must be a legal U.S. resident or hold a valid U.S. visa/immigration status that allows for international travel and re-entry.
  4. Travel: You must have a valid passport and be available for approximately 4 weeks of filming in Scotland (Expected May/June 2026).
  5. Political Restriction: Applicants cannot be currently holding or running for public office.

United Kingdom (Series 5 – BBC)

  • Status: Civilian.
  • Minimum Age: 18 years old.
  • Residency: Applicant must have the right to legally reside in the UK.
  • Availability: You must be available for up to 4 weeks of filming (Expected Summer/Autumn 2026).
  • Conflict of Interest: You cannot be an employee (or related to one) of the BBC or Studio Lambert.

Canada (Season 4 – CTV)

  • Status: Civilian.
  • Minimum Age: 19 years old (Max age: 99).
  • Residency: Applicant must be a Canadian citizen or a Permanent Resident.
  • Availability: Must commit to 14 consecutive days of filming in early May 2026.
  • Required Media: Need 3 photos (headshot, full-length, candid) and a 90-second intro video.

Ireland (Season 2 – RTÉ)

  • Status: Civilian.
  • Minimum Age: 18 years old.
  • Residency: Applicant must be a resident of Ireland.
  • Submission Method: Applications are currently accepted via email at traitors@kiteentertainment.com.
  • Video: A 1-minute introduction video is mandatory.

Australia (Season 3 – Channel 10)

  • Status: Celebrity / Reality All-Stars.
  • Eligibility: Typically, by invitation only for the 2026 season.
  • Note: Unlike the US/UK, the Australian 2026 cast features stars from Big Brother, Survivor, and The Bachelor.

Common Disqualifiers

In all countries that show traitors, if you do not meet these conditions, you will generally not be eligible:

  1. Work for the show: You or a close family member works for the producing network (NBC, BBC, CTV, etc.).
  2. Government or Public position: You are a politician or are currently running for office.
  3. Filming difficulties: You cannot commit to the entire filming period (you cannot leave midway through).

How to Apply: The Universal Checklist

Regardless of the country, most casting directors look for the same “big four” things in an application. Read the special page for more information.

  1. The 90-Second Intro Video: This is a crucial factor in qualifying for the “do or die” moment of The Traitors season. Don’t be boring! Tell a story about a time you successfully lied to someone or how you plan to manipulate people at the roundtable.
  2. Recent Photographs: Typically, you will need to provide a clear headshot, a full-body photo, and a “candid” photo that showcases your personality.
  3. Social Media Presence: You make sure your Instagram or TikTok profile is public or ready for review. Casting producers use these platforms to check your “vibe” and authenticity.
  4. Strategic Personality: Producers aren’t just looking for fans; they want “characters.” Decide your gameplay style from the start: will you be a “silent observer” or an “agent of chaos”?
